Meet the Team

The Anchor Rose is proud to have deep roots in the Santa Barbara community as well as extensive restaurant management experience.

Amy Rose

Amy Rose was born and raised in Santa Barbara and started in her father’s restaurants at the age of seven, learning all aspects of the restaurant business. While attending UCSB she worked at the former Beachside Bar Cafe. In addition to her experience at Beachside, she was employed as the manager of both Ca’ Dario on Victoria Street and Piranha on State St.

At age 36, after spending a few years in Europe, Amy moved back to California to take over the management of her father’s restaurant group, now owning and running nine Black Bear Diners in California.

Robert (Bob) Rose

Bob has lived in the Santa Barbara Community for over 50 years.  He has a home in Goleta, where he resides with his lovely wife Stella.  He has raised 4 children in Goleta who have worked in this community for 20+ years.

Bob began his restaurant career in 1966 with the progressive concept of Sambo’s Restaurants Inc.  He opted into Management where he invested his own money to train and become a top performing General Manager.

Within 5 years he became the Territory Director for Sambo’s Restaurants Inc. and moved to Jackson, Mississippi.  There he managed a four-state territory and continued to build the Sambo’s brand.

Subsequently, David Nancarrow of Carrow’s Restaurants, heard of Bob success and offered him the role of Director of Operations where he was then promoted to become the Chief Operating Officer.

After having built and supported two restaurant chains, Bob was ready to start his own.  He took his savings and moved his business intelligence to the San Joaquin Valley over 30 years ago.  Since going out on his own (1986), Bob built and created Ryan’s Place Restaurant & Bakery.  In 1988 another opportunity arose; Bob Rose and MB Scott acquired the legendary Harry’s Plaza Café.
